About Mira Amara Thompson
Mira Amara Thompson is the author of Love, Unscripted and The Ashcroft Series. She writes about adults who think before they speak and hesitate before they trust. Her fiction is grounded in emotional realism and shaped by the belief that the most consequential decisions are often made quietly.
Drawn to characters navigating responsibility, reputation, inheritance, and desire within systems that reward control, she writes stories where intimacy and tension sit side by side. Her work moves between emotionally charged contemporary romance and atmospheric fiction shaped by hidden histories, family legacies, and the truths people try hardest not to name.
Mira Amara Thompson writes for readers who are interested not only in what people reveal, but in what they protect, and what it costs to remain protected.
My Story
My fiction grows out of a fascination with inner lives that do not easily show themselves on the surface, and I have always been interested in people who appear composed, capable, and self possessed while carrying questions they cannot neatly resolve.
I write about relationships shaped by timing, history, class, family expectation, and the private stories people tell themselves in order to keep going, because I am less interested in spectacle than in the quiet turning points when a glance, a choice, or a withheld truth changes everything.
At the heart of my work is the belief that emotional lives are rarely tidy and that the most important decisions are often made long before they are spoken, which is why I return to this territory in every book.
